Part Time - Culinary Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Culinary Support Para-Educator to assist in meal preparation and service within a therapeutic environment for at-risk students. This role offers the chance to positively impact vulnerable youth by providing nutritious meals in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing and serving meals for students and staff in residential treatment facilities.
• Creating and implementing nutritious menus in compliance with state regulations.
• Maintaining safety, sanitation, and proper food storage standards.
• Supervising students and helpers during food prep, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Ordering, stocking, and managing inventory of food and supplies.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff to provide meals aligned with guidelines.
• Performing lifting, cleaning, and other duties as needed to support food service operations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be 21 or older with experience in large-group food preparation or institutional cooking.
• Ability to travel between campuses as needed.
• Strong communication skills and physical ability to stand long hours.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food service procedures.
• Experience or education in food preparation, dietetics, or nutrition is preferred.
