Part-Time Cook

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ preferences
• Aid with meal planning and ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are maintained
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate special dietary needs and requests
• Ensure timely delivery of meals to residents and assist with meal service and clean-up

Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or cooking, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Careful and respectful attitude towards seniors and their needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification required
• Food Handlers permit if required per state regulations
• One year’s experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking
• Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred
• Six months experience in a long term care or senior living environment preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age to be employed in this position
