About the role

Performs duties in the operation and maintenance of a Convenience Center or Transfer Station for the collection of garbage and recycling materials. Work is supervised by the Engineer/General Services Director or his/her designee and evaluated by conferences, observation, and feedback from the centers’ clients regarding operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment and grounds needs
• Assure that requirements for the operation are met
• Monitor the appropriateness of materials for disposal or recycling and the proper sorting of the material
• Remove any material in inappropriate places and re-sort
• Direct citizens to alternate disposal sites for materials that are unacceptable
• Perform related duties as required

Physical Requirements

The employee is subject to working in inside and outside environments, extreme temperatures and weather, and is exposed to various hazards such as noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and atmospheric conditions.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school/GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Hiring Salary: $14.98 per hour
