Part-Time Convenience Center Operator

About the role

Lee County is seeking qualified applicants for temporary Convenience Center Operators in the Solid Waste Department. Employees will work on an "as needed, fill-in" basis.

Responsibilities

• Operation of compactor
• Maintaining general cleanliness of the convenience center site, the attendant's building and the hopper area
• General maintenance such as greasing and oiling of equipment
• Assisting citizens with lifting and other physical efforts involved with the disposal of solid waste
• Maintaining daily log sheets and records

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with users of the facility to explain information clearly
• Ability to enforce rules and regulations
• Ability to handle difficult customers in a tactful manner
