About the Role
Part-time, at-will, hourly position (up to 19 hours/week) at the Carbon County Higher Education Center. Schedule is flexible based on CCHEC events and classes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Community Engagement Coordinator in creating press releases, advertisements, electronic newsletters, and other marketing communication materials to recruit and retain students, as well as support staff and student achievements.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Community Engagement Coordinator on internal events and programming to strengthen community partnerships and engagement.
- Help develop new CCHEC programs in response to community needs.
- Prepare for, attend, and assist with CCHEC community events and classes.
- Research potential community education classes.
- Keep CCHEC updated on local community issues, trends, and developments.
- Maintain and monitor the CCHEC website, Facebook, and other social media platforms under the guidance of the Community Engagement Coordinator.
- Organize CCHEC participation in public and community events such as parades and fairs.
- Recruit potential instructors for community education programming.
- Master and utilize Lumens software for class management, student registrations, and reports.
- Master and utilize software for creating flyers, advertisements, and live streaming events.
- Assess the quality of community education programming.
- Serve as a backup to answer phones and field inquiries.
- Greet, direct, and provide general information to visitors as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and creativity.
- Strong computer skills, fluent in major software programs.
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms.
- Excellent English grammar and punctuation skills; proficiency in Spanish is helpful.
