Part-time Coach - Womens Soccer

As the Women’s Soccer Coach, you will provide mentorship, support, and expertise to enhance performance, foster skill development, and promote a positive, collaborative environment. The ideal coach possesses strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for helping others succeed. You will create a culture of compliance with NJCAA bylaws and policies, prioritize the welfare and safety of student‑athletes, and be available to coach evenings and weekends with travel to various competitions.

Responsibilities

• Player/Team Development
  • Assess and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of individuals or teams.
  • Develop and implement customized training programs to enhance skills and performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Leadership and Motivation
  • Inspire and motivate players to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that promotes collaboration and sportsmanship.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism and ethical behavior.
• Communication and Recruitment
  • Promote the team and work to recruit and retain members.
  • Effectively communicate with players, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide clear instructions and constructive feedback.
  • Keep stakeholders informed about progress, upcoming events, and relevant information.
• Player Welfare
  • Monitor the physical and mental well‑being of players.
  • Address health, safety, or personal concerns in a supportive manner.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure overall well‑being.
• Game Day Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute effective game‑day strategies.
  • Provide real‑time guidance and adjustments during competitions.
  • Remain composed under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Safely transport the team and equipment using Blackhawk Technical College vehicles as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to recruit, evaluate, motivate, and develop student‑athletes.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with athletes, families, high school and club coaches, and community partners.
• Effectiveness working with a diverse student population and fostering an inclusive environment.
• Strong focus on instilling the fundamentals of the game.
• Commitment to academic, athletic, and personal development of student‑athletes, emphasizing leadership, accountability, teamwork, community engagement, and student success.
• Excellent communication skills, including motivating and encouraging players.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in Education or a related field, or comparable work experience.
• At least two years of soccer coaching experience at the high school, club, collegiate, or comparable competitive level.

Schedule

Coaching duties require availability during evenings and weekends, with travel to various competitions as needed.
