About the role
Provides instruction for daytime Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes starting April 2026. Attends a 5-day blended orientation—2 days virtual and 3 days in Columbus, Ohio—with the Healthcare Coordinator; travel accommodations are provided. Flexible day-time class schedules are available.
Responsibilities
- Teach the CNA curriculum according to Ohio Department of Health standards.
- Update curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials to reflect best practices and aid students in developing skills and confidence in healthcare areas.
- Integrate computer-aided instruction into lessons as appropriate.
- Teach hands-on skills in healthcare courses.
- Attend clinical sites with students to oversee safety.
- Attend skills lab testing to ensure the safety of students and volunteers.
- Plan lessons and monitor skills while assessing student progress on an ongoing basis.
- Collect, record, and report all necessary information related to students in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Registered Nurse with an active license for the state of Ohio.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a nursing home setting (required) and hospital setting (preferred), with the most recent experience within the last year.
- Active Train the Trainer Certification to teach CNA (required) or obtain within 3 months of employment; certification is paid for by the employer if needed.
- CPR Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen certification.
- Ability to perform and teach basic skills of activities of daily living.
- Experience working with adult and high school learners preferred.
