SAFY is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Therapist for our Huntsville, AL division. In this role, you will provide a range of moderately complex clinical services to children, adolescents, and identified adults across various settings and modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and individual, family, and group therapy according to program specifics.
  • Administer, score, and interpret moderate-level psychometric assessment instruments.
  • Participate in the development of documented treatment/service plans and deliver behavioral services tailored to client needs.
  • Provide short-term crisis intervention using evidence-based models like Family Wellness and other Trauma-Informed approaches.
  • Deliver services at the frequency, intensity, and duration appropriate to program design, focusing on preventing out-of-home placement, achieving reunification, or meeting treatment goals.
  • Tailor services to each client’s needs, problems, strengths, lifestyle, and culture.
  • Develop and maintain consultative and liaison relationships with caregivers in the catchment area (e.g., schools, human services agencies) to promote coordination and development of mental health services.
  • Establish rapport and implement interventions to meet client and collateral needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Complete assessments as required by state rules, agency policies, and contract requirements, including psychosocial assessments, Diagnostic Assessment Forms, and independent living skills assessments.
  • Prepare all required clinical documentation within established time frames, adhering to state, program, contract, and COA standards.
  • Administer and/or interpret moderate-level psychometric assessment tools.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Develop or assist in the development of crisis, safety, and behavioral management plans.
  • Timely document outcomes of home/office visits, support sessions, interactions with parties involved in client care, and incidents.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports, progress notes, and billing tickets in a timely manner.
  • Compile profiles using pre- and post-assessment tools for outcome measures.
  • Report caseload to support personnel (e.g., Office Manager, Medicaid specialist, finance personnel) as required by the program.
  • Maintain contact with referral agency personnel through discharge reports, Diagnostic Assessment forms, telephone calls, incident reports, and regularly scheduled written reports.
  • Review client files pertaining to assigned caseload as part of the quality improvement process.
  • Comply with monthly and quarterly requirements as defined by SAFY QI/CQI standards.
  • Meet state-required utilization standards for Mental Health services.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or another license-eligible field of human services.
  • LMSW or LCSW required.
  • Two years of experience in mental health/therapeutic intervention with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Experience with family preservation services and/or best-practice clinical models preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and auto insurance to meet travel requirements; may require transporting youth if needed.

Pay

Targeted hiring range: $20.00 - $31.00 per hour. Compensation is based on transferable experience, education, licensure, location, internal equity, and budgeted amount for the role.
