Part Time Childcare Educator (Ridgefield School District)

About the role
As an Educator or Substitute Educator, you’ll inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give parents peace of mind. You’ll deliver our dynamic daily curriculum, engage children in academic and social character-building activities, and maintain a safe, positive environment.
Responsibilities
- Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and observations
- Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to expand school-day learning in a meaningful way
- Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to ensure the safety, well-being, and attention of all children
- Support homework completion, lead fun fitness activities, and guide children at play
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel
- Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability
Requirements
- Proof of high school diploma/GED
- Ability to meet state-specific requirements: FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter, cleared TB, proof of MMR, and Food Handlers Card
- 18+ years of age
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
- Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills with varied audiences
- Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living
- Respect for and dedication to working with children with special needs
- Ability to lift 25 lbs

Pay
$18.00–$20.00 per hour (based on education and experience)
Schedule
Monday–Friday, split shift with full availability required:
- Before School Shift: 6:30am–9:00am
- After School Shift: 2:30pm–6:00pm
Actual schedule will vary based on program needs.
