Part Time Childcare Educator - RI Portsmouth School Department

About the role

Right At School seeks dedicated educators to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and provide a safe environment for children to explore and grow. Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working with children under 13 years of age, college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or a related field preferred, and outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents and other observations.
• Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
• Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
• Mentor and guide children in a safe and supportive environment.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• At least 3 years of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or a related field preferred.
• Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• State-specific requirements: CPR, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, etc.

Pay

$18.00-$21.00 per hour (based on education and experience)

Schedule

Monday to Friday
7:00 AM - 8:30 AM
and
3:15 PM - 6:00 PM
