About the role

Right At School is seeking a part-time Childcare Educator to join our team. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM and 3 PM to 6 PM, with potential flexibility in the schedule depending on the school.

Responsibilities

  • Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
  • Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character-building that expands school day learning in a meaningful way.
  • Model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well-being, and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
  • Maintain regular meetings with the Program Manager to discuss professional progress and team accountability.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 240 hours or more working in a licensed childcare facility as an assistant.
  • One of the following:
    • Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education.
    • Two credits in early childhood and one non-credit department-approved course in early childhood.
    • A certificate from the WI registry as a child care teacher.
  • Completed Staff Health Report and clear TB test within 30 days of hire date.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills with varied audience including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
  • Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
  • Respect for and dedication to working with children with special needs.
  • A love for children!

Skills and expertise

  • 18 years old or older.

  • Health Report and TB test can be used if completed within past 12 months - clear to start requirement.
