Part Time Childcare Educator (East Valley School District)

About the role

Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focused on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment to support the success of all students. Our mission emphasizes inspiring a love of learning, supporting schools, and giving families peace of mind by building a team of mission-driven individuals passionate about fostering a love of learning and creating safe, engaging experiences for children.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and maintain team accountability.
• Organize and facilitate daily activities, preparing curriculum that aligns with program objectives.
• Organize and lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age (preferred).
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
• Ability to meet Washington state-specific requirements, including:
  • First Aid and CPR (in-person)
  • Cleared tuberculosis test
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Proof of MMR
  • 18+ years of age
  • Proof of High School diploma/GED required
  • Background Check with fingerprinting

Pay

$17.50–$19/hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

• Morning program: 6:15–8:20 am (6:15–9:10 am on Mondays)
• Afternoon program: 3:20–6:00 pm
