About the role

The Home for Little Wanderers is a child welfare agency founded over 200 years ago, serving thousands of at-risk youths from birth to age 26. Youth on Fire (YOF), one of their programs, is a daytime drop-in center in Greater Boston that supports unhoused and unaccompanied youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and therapeutic support to clients.
  • Support families with issues such as family communication, parenting skills, substance abuse, domestic violence, and past trauma.
  • Cook and serve meals, provide showers, and offer a safe space for clients.
  • Coordinate resources and services for clients and families.
  • Administer written assessments, treatment planning, and safety planning.
  • Submit reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with client collaterals and providers of supportive services.
  • Facilitate communication between various providers.
  • Plan, assess, and provide all treatment and clinical interventions in an active co-therapy partnership with collaterals.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide quality services.
  • Attend staff meetings and present client material.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.
  • Attend clinical training and safety practice training.
  • May be required to provide support to families on a rotating schedule utilizing an on-call system.
  • May be required to carry a mobile device.
  • May be required to meet certain billing requirements on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, or Psychology (varies by program).
  • Experience with behavior management systems, treatment planning, crisis intervention, case management, and providing individual, group, and/or family therapy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Department of Children and Families and other local child and family advocate agencies.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications.

Pay

The pay range listed represents the company’s good faith estimate of the salary or wage range for this position at the time of posting, as required under applicable law. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and internal equity relative to other employees in similar roles. Candidates with less directly related experience may be placed toward the lower end of the range, while those with extensive or specialized experience may be placed toward the higher end. Market conditions and budget considerations may also influence final pay decisions.
