Part Time Breast Feeding Peer Counselor

About the role

We are seeking a part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to support the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program. This position will primarily serve pregnant and breastfeeding clients at the Tapestry of Health WIC office in Lewistown, providing basic breastfeeding information and support, and helping clients prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems.

Regular local travel within our 26-county central Pennsylvania region is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic breastfeeding information and support to WIC clients.
• Help clients prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems.
• Work independently or collaboratively with other staff.
• Communicate effectively and tactfully with a diverse range of individuals in both verbal and written forms.

Requirements

• Previous breastfeeding experience (does not have to be currently breastfeeding).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Regular local travel within the region.

• PA State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH)
