Part Time Breast Feeding Peer Counselor
About the role
We are seeking two part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselors to support the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program. These positions will primarily serve pregnant and breastfeeding clients at Tapestry of Health WIC offices in Bloomsburg, Shamokin, or Shamokin Dam.
Regular local travel within the region (primarily between Bloomsburg, Shamokin, and Shamokin Dam) is required. Primary office location can be established at the candidate's preference of these three locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic breastfeeding information and support to clients.
- Help clients prevent and handle common breastfeeding problems.
- Work independently or in conjunction with other staff.
- Communicate effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in both verbal and written forms.
Requirements
- Previous breastfeeding experience (does not have to be currently breastfeeding).
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organization skills.

Clearances
The following clearances and background checks are required upon employment and as a condition of continued employment:
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH)
- FBI Criminal Record Check, from fingerprinting
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA)
