Part-Time Audiologist

About the role

Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) is seeking a part-time Audiologist to provide clinical instruction, supervision, and direct audiological services.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical instruction and supervision for undergraduate students acquiring observation and practicum experience, and act as a clinical preceptor for doctoral students in the Auburn Au.D. program.
• Provide and coordinate direct and comprehensive audiological testing and evaluation services to patients; determine need for and administer appropriate tests and measures, correctly assess test results, and plan and carry out habilitative/rehabilitative care.
• Evaluate, fit, program, and dispense state-of-the-art hearing aids and amplification systems; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs of hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
• Counsel patients and their families regarding evaluation results and plan of care.
• Document all clinical patient interactions, including evaluation, treatment, and consultation recommendations, and ensure reports are signed and placed in patient charts.
• Document student goals and assessments of their skills.
• Ensure work areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, and efficient environment for patients, families, and employees.
• Complete necessary continuing education to maintain an Alabama license to practice audiology.
• Attend required program meetings.
• Participate in and/or organize community education and outreach.

Requirements

• Doctorate of audiology degree and experience equivalent to three years of employment in audiology or related work.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence is required.
