About the Role

Kenyon College invites applications for a Part-Time Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach to support the NCAA D-III program in compliance with NCAA, NCAC, and Kenyon College policies. The role emphasizes fostering learning, community, and values such as citizenship, competition, resiliency, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in supporting students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coaches of the men’s and women’s teams in all aspects, as needed.
  • Represent Kenyon College positively and enthusiastically at all times.
  • Teach the fundamentals of tennis, complementing the head coaches’ instruction.
  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation team, contributing to program implementation on a residential campus.
  • Develop and maintain supportive relationships with student affairs colleagues, faculty, and campus partners.
  • Comply with College, Department of Athletics, NCAC, and NCAA policies, including the student-athlete handbook and mission statements.

Working Conditions

  • Some heavy lifting and equipment moving required.
  • Non-traditional schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, college breaks, and summers.
  • Travel required for athletic contests, recruiting, coaches meetings, and conventions.
  • Ability to obtain College driver certification is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience instructing on the rules and fundamentals of tennis.
  • Collegiate playing experience.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (can be completed after hire).
