About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Assistant Tennis Coach to join our team. This role involves supporting the head tennis coach in fostering a positive, competitive environment while ensuring the health and safety of athletes. The ideal candidate will have prior coaching experience with at least level 1 RSPA or PTR certification, strong leadership skills, and a passion for student-athlete development.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of athletes on and off the court.
- Foster a community of healthy competition and sportsmanship among athletes.
- Implement effective and engaging practice sessions.
- Assist with team management and logistics.
- Maintain open communication with athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Assist the head coach in running a successful varsity program that competes as a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II program and as a member of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA).
- Recruit student-athletes, provide practice and competition coaching, and implement competitive strategies while advising and mentoring student-athletes.
- Understand and promote the mission, goals, values and educational ideals of Oxford College of Emory University.
Qualifications
- Level 1 RSPA or PTR certification.
- Ability to pass a driving and criminal background check.
- Availability for nights and weekends, August through May.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of student-athletes and professional staff.
