Part-Time Assistant Fencing Coach

Responsibilities

• Affirms and enforces team rules and expectations.
• Coaches, trains, and develops individual players and their skills.
• Recruits prospective student-athletes, coordinates visits, and plans travel itineraries for the team.
• Reviews recorded video and creates scouting reports.
• Manages and creates content to promote the team and the University and engages with alumni.
• Specializes in epee, leading a weapon squad in practice when available.
• Creates footwork, drills, and bouting games for the weapon squad.
• Provides individual lessons to members of the weapon squad during and outside of practice.
• Attends and works with the weapon squad during practices.
• Travels to tournaments to support the team.
• Reinforces team and University rules and expectations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Driver’s license
• CPR/AED certification
• Entry-level position, no prior work experience required

Preferred Requirements

• Master’s Degree
• 1-3 years’ experience playing, coaching, and/or recruiting at the collegiate level
