General Statement Of Duties

Under general supervision, the purpose of the classification is to administer diagnostic computerized placement examinations to new and returning students for English, Reading, and Math placement. Employees in this classification perform administrative work involving computerized test administration.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Administer and proctor computerized placement examinations to new and returning students, interprets placement scores, and determines course placement and course recommendations based on test scores
  • Administer and proctor other tests as needed, e.g. faculty course testing, HiSET, etc.
  • Enters data into BANNER, e.g. test scores; performs general data management
  • Works with a variety of testing platforms, e.g. Exam Soft, Pearson, ATIP
  • Performs administrative tasks associated with department activities, e.g. downloads rosters, checks students in and out of testing
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks in support of overall department operations, e.g. assists with CLEP registrations
  • Interacts with various agencies/individuals, e.g. answers student questions regarding testing, communicates with other departments, students, advisors, faculty members, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related field
  • One (1) year experience and/or training involving computerized test administration, computer program manipulation, or computer operations in an academic environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Technical proficiency
  • Experience with Banner preferred
