Part-Time Art Instructor

Central is seeking an energetic, versatile educator to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role blends art instruction with physical education, social media engagement, admissions support, and exam proctoring—ideal for a creative, adaptable teacher who thrives in a dynamic school environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art curriculum and instruction
  • Teach up to four periods of physical education per week
  • Create, schedule, and manage content for the school's social media accounts, capturing classroom and school life
  • Support the admissions team with tours, event assistance, interviews, and communications with prospective families
  • Proctor exams and assessments as scheduled
  • Participate in student programming periods as needed
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and well-supplied art classroom and gym space
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and families
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on school-wide events, exhibitions, and initiatives
  • Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Art Education, Studio Art, Physical Education, or related field preferred
  • Prior teaching experience preferred, ideally with elementary and/or middle school-aged students
  • Experience with social media content creation is a plus
  • Experience in school admissions or front-facing family communication is a plus
  • Certification/licensure a plus, but not required

Skills

  • Strong classroom management and ability to engage students across different subjects
  • Comfort teaching both art and physical education
  • Basic photography/videography skills and familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, flexible, and comfortable managing varied daily responsibilities
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, proactive attitude
  • Comfortable interacting with prospective families and representing the school professionally

Pay

$55,000–$65,000
