About the role

This is a part-time, sub/on-call role to cover after-school sites within the Duncanville and Cedar Hill area on an as-needed basis between the hours of 3:00 pm–6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You may be asked to work at different site locations based on needs.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily program meetings to review goals, share ideas, discuss professional progress, and encourage collaboration and team accountability.
  • Organize and facilitate daily activities and curriculum aligned with program objectives.
  • Lead structured daily fitness activities that are both educational and enjoyable for all ages.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
  • Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols, including documenting attendance, incidents, and other observations.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of age.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to meet state-specific requirements (e.g., FA/CPR, Mandated Reporter, cleared TB).
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age (preferred).
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
  • Communication skills (oral, written, and visual) with adults and children.
  • Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn.
  • Coursework or training in child development and/or related field is a plus.

Pay

Starting pay is $15/hr and up, based on education and experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 3:00 pm–6:00 pm.
