About the role

The Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University is seeking part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Department of Philosophy and the Program for Religious Studies. Areas of need include Current Moral Issues, Introduction to World Religions, History and Practice of Christianity, and History and Practice of Islam.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in-person or online courses in the Department of Philosophy or in the Program for Religious Studies.
  • Eligibility for teaching depends on the degree held: a master’s or doctoral degree for graduate courses, and a master’s degree for undergraduate courses.
  • Salary is determined on a per-course basis.

Requirements

  • For Department of Philosophy positions: A master’s or doctoral degree in Philosophy or a closely related discipline.
  • For Program for Religious Studies positions: A master’s or doctoral degree in Religious Studies or a closely related discipline.
  • Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level is required.

Qualifications

  • A letter of application summarizing teaching qualifications.
  • A curriculum vitae, including professional certifications and experience.
  • Contact information for two individuals who can provide letters of recommendation.
