Part-time Activities Assistant

Responsibilities

• Organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions, small-group facilitation, and large-group presentations.
• Document individual participation and the value of approaches in the medical record.
• Aid in planning, coordinating, and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and emotional needs of our residents.
• Create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.
• Design programs to encourage socialization.
• Provide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment and improve daily living skills.
• Prepare and maintain reports on resident’s progress.
• Ensure activity areas are safe and well maintained.
• Generate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participation.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Problem-solving skills.
• The ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situations.
• The ability to work under stress while remaining caring and kind.
• The ability to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive manner.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Musical/arts & crafts experience preferred.

Pay

$17.00/HR

Schedule

We can offer a full-time position to candidates who are amenable to working rotating weekends as an Activities Assistant, with occasional weekday shifts as a Dietary Aide.
