Parole Examination Specialist #26-098

Job Responsibilities

• Performs probation and parole functions, including Parole Examiner duties.
• Conducts investigations and oversight of Board-related functions.
• Analyzes inmate/applicant records for parole or discretionary release programs.
• Makes recommendations to the Board and assists with pre-release preparations.
• Compiles investigations and case summaries accurately, concisely, and according to agency policy.
• Maintains contact with agency and community contacts to ensure quality standards are met.
• Utilizes computer systems to adjust parole and pardon case summary packets as needed.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses.
• Experience in probation and parole work.
• Preferred qualifications include:
• A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling, or another social/behavioral science.
• At least 15 credit hours in the aforementioned disciplines.
• Some experience with pre-parole investigations and/or parole examinations.

Additional Comments
