About the role
The City of Arkansas City is seeking a dependable, skilled, and self-motivated Parks & Facilities Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and repair of City parks, facilities, and infrastructure, with a focus on electrical systems, lighting, and traffic signal maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic electrical maintenance and repairs, including lighting systems, outlets, switches, panels (non-licensed work only), and facility electrical components.
- Assist with maintenance, inspection, and repair of traffic signals, pedestrian signals, signage lighting, and related traffic control infrastructure.
- Report complex electrical or signal issues requiring licensed or specialized service.
- Perform skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of City parks, facilities, buildings, grounds, and related infrastructure.
- Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, concrete, irrigation, and minor construction.
- Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles, including mowers, tractors, trucks, loaders, lifts, and power tools.
- Perform routine inspections, servicing, and minor repairs of assigned equipment.
- Avoid and report hazards, and follow safety protocols.
- Maintain basic records related to work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance.
- Communicate work progress, safety concerns, and repair needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in parks maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, electrical maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
