Parks Maintenance Technician I

Essential Functions

• Performs routine general and preventative maintenance, cleaning, and/or preparation of equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
• Prepares and maintains athletic fields and park grounds and all associated amenities.
• Trims trees and shrubs and performs basic landscape installation and maintenance.
• Operates light equipment (saws, weed eaters, drills, edgers).
• Maintains playground and park structures.
• Performs inspections and repairs minor irrigation issues.
• Maintains inventory levels of equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Performs building maintenance.
• Affords assistance in the preparation, operation and takedown of special events hosted by the City.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six (6) months of experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• A valid State of Texas Driver's License.
