Park Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, and landscaping.
• Maintain parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, walking trails, and other recreational facilities.
• Auxiliary with repairs and upkeep of park equipment, buildings, fences, and amenities.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, and other maintenance equipment.
• Auxiliary with special event setup and teardown.
• Remove litter and debris to ensure facilities remain clean and safe.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests and address safety concerns in public areas.
• Auxiliary with irrigation system maintenance and other facility improvement projects.
• Follow established safety procedures and departmental policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, facility maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, sitting, walking, use of hands to operate tools and controls, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, crawling, talking, and hearing.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Exposure to dogs and other animals, extreme heat and cold, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, chemicals, and loud noises.
