WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
Serves as the strategic leader for all Parks & Recreation operations, shaping the future of community programming and public spaces.
Oversees major capital improvement initiatives including park renovations, facility upgrades, and expansion projects.
Drives community engagement through innovative programming, events, and partnerships with local organizations.
Acts as a key advisor to town leadership, including board and executive stakeholders, influencing long-term planning and decision-making.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in municipal parks and recreation or a related public sector environment.
Proven experience managing budgets and overseeing multi-functional departments.
Experience developing or contributing to parks and recreation master plans.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage boards, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
Passion for community impact, with a balance of operational execution and visionary thinking.
CPRP or CPRE certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
