Job Title: Parkour/Trampoline Coach
Location: Edwards Field House (Edwards, CO) and Gypsum Recreation Center (Gypsum, CO)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Year-Round
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Schedule: Hours and schedule very dependent on program needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Supervision Required: Works under the supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinators and Gymnastics Supervisor
Supervision Exercised: None
Work Environment and Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, which may include standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing for extended periods; lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds; providing spotting for participants up to 175 pounds; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, or squatting as needed; and using hands to handle equipment or tools. The majority of work is performed indoors in an active trampoline and parkour environment with normal to loud noise levels.

Salary: $17.32 – $21.65/hour DOE; staff in this position are eligible for a $1/hour incentive for Spanish/English bilingual and can pass the language competency test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for the supervision, instruction, and safety of trampoline, parkour programs and Ninja Camps. Coaches guide skill development, monitor progression, enforce safety protocols, and ensure a positive and engaging environment for all athletes.
- Ensure participants follow all trampoline and parkour safety rules and guidelines.
- Supervise assigned classes and programs, maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Provide on-site oversight of programs, monitoring participant progress, skill development, and behavior.
- Interact professionally with participants and families, fostering strong public relations and a welcoming atmosphere.
- Inspect facilities and equipment as needed to maintain safety and a high-quality experience for all athletes and spectators.
- Evaluate class effectiveness and program outcomes using measures and feedback provided by supervisors.
- Collaborate as part of a team with other Mountain Recreation staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of:
- Basic trampoline and parkour skills and how to teach them safely.
- How to keep participants safe and use equipment correctly.
- How to help students learn new skills and progress safely.
Skills and abilities:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with participants, families, and staff.
- High energy, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for working with youth.
- Previous trampoline or parkour experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safety requirements and procedures for assigned recreation programs.
- Ability to instruct, supervise, and support programs in the assigned area.
Requirements:
- Education and experience:
- Minimum 14 years of age or older;
- High school graduate or equivalent, or currently attending high school;
- Previous experience working or volunteering with children/youth;
- Any satisfactory combination of experience and education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the above-described duties.
- Certifications:
- May require possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
