Summary
The Seasonal Parking and Transit Technician supports the Town’s parking and transit operations during peak visitor seasons. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and visitor-friendly parking and transit services in a high-demand recreational environment. Duties include field operations, customer service, data collection, and close coordination with the parking and transit manager.
Examples of Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Works under supervision of the Parking & Transit Manager.
• Assists with daily parking operations including monitoring parking areas, responding to customer inquiries, and supporting compliance efforts.
• Provides friendly, clear information to residents and visitors regarding parking regulations, permits, transit routes, transit schedules, and special events affecting parking or transit operations.
• Supports transit operations through passenger assistance, wayfinding, stop monitoring, and coordination with drivers and dispatch as needed.
• Assists with parking technology and equipment, including pay stations, signage, temporary devices, and handheld units.
• Collects field data related to parking occupancy, turnover, transit ridership, and special events.
• Assists with temporary traffic control including installing and removing cones, barricades, and signage during special events, construction, or peak periods.
• Responds to parking- and transit-related service requests and relays issues to supervisor.
• Supports parking enforcement staff as needed (non-sworn; does not issue parking violations unless specifically directed).
• Maintains a professional, welcoming presence that reflects the Town’s customer service standards.
• Participates in daily and/or weekly job-related staff briefings.
• Performs other related work duties as required or assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
• Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Experience in customer service, parking, transit, tourism, or outdoor recreation.
- Familiarity with a recreational or resort community environment.
- Experience with data collection or use of handheld/mobile technology.
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and mobile device proficiency including working knowledge of Google suite and Microsoft software (i.e., word, excel).
• Ability to learn and explain parking and transit systems clearly to the public, including understanding and interpreting maps and brochures.
• Ability to maintain situational awareness and work safely in varying and changing situations.
• Ability to learn and implement conflict de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

COLORADO PERA REQUIREMENT
This position must pay into Colorado Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) on both the employer and employee end; 9% for employee and 15.8% for employer. The position is not otherwise benefit eligible.
