About the role
The City of Madison Parking Division seeks a Construction Project Manager to oversee capital improvement projects, facility renovations, major maintenance initiatives, and technology upgrades across the city’s parking system. This role involves managing projects from planning through construction, collaborating with vendors, contractors, City agencies, and operational staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality facilities while minimizing disruptions to daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects from planning through construction
- Work with vendors, contractors, City agencies, and operational staff to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality facilities
- Exercise considerable independent judgment and report to the Parking Operations Manager
Requirements
- Four (4) years of experience in construction management and administration
- Four (4) years of experience in applying principles, theories, and practices of construction management and administration work
- Four (4) years of experience in coordinating building construction and remodeling projects
- Four (4) years of experience in methods and techniques associated with the construction and management of public works facilities projects
- Four (4) years of experience using computer software applicable to construction management and public sector contracting
- Four (4) years of experience in public sector contracting and capital budgeting processes
- Five (5) years of responsible, professional experience in the management and administration of construction and facilities projects
- Three (3) years of responsible, professional experience in the management and administration of construction and facilities projects
- Three (3) years of responsible, professional experience in the management and administration of construction and facilities projects
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a closely related field
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field
Qualifications
- Collaborative, organized, and solution-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and impacted parties
Skills
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g. Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
