Parking Enforcement Officer

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time
Location: Marine Park in Boston, MA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Patrols an assigned area to observe automobiles, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and other vehicles for parking violations in multiple locations.
• Issues citations for improper use of specifically designated areas, improper parking such as parking in crosswalks or other sidewalks, improperly parked motorcycles, parking in preferential areas, and related violations.
• Operate license plate reading technology through a touch screen interface.
• Supervise towing and removal of vehicles by contracted vendors.
• Checks the operational condition of enforcement vehicles and performs routine operator maintenance such as fueling the vehicle.
• Completes data required for citations including but not limited to violation type, time, date and location of offense, vehicle license plate number, and/or vehicle identification number.
• Trash pickup at multiple locations.
• "Boot" vehicles that are in violation with a device called the Barnacle.
• Exercise proper judgment, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with people.
• Provide the company’s standards of service with each customer including maintaining the required uniform appearance, stating the company greeting, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• May be asked by local management to complete small cleaning or maintenance tasks according to the company’s maintenance checklists.
• Other special projects as assigned by location management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• High school degree preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively both verbally and through written correspondence.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when working with other employees and customers.
• Ability to provide customer resolution in a professional and friendly manner.
• Available for mornings, evenings, or overnight shifts.

Skills

• Customer service experience (1 year or more preferred).

Pay

$1,000 signing/retention bonus paid in two installments: $200 after 30 days and $800 after 150 days of service. Bonus opportunity ends 9/30/2026.

Earn an additional $1,000 for each new friend referred who is hired, paid in two installments: $200 after 30 days and $800 after 150 days of service. Referral must be submitted before your friend is interviewed. Both you and your friend must remain employed to receive each installment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk, and hear.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs.
• May be subjected to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
• Regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to moderate.
