Department: Parking • 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM • Full-time • Location: Everett City Hall

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Parking Clerk, you will enforce all parking rules and regulations of the City of Everett.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol assigned areas to identify, report, and tag illegally parked cars.
  • Issue notices of violations to offenders in tag form.
  • Identify and report vehicles eligible for impoundment.
  • Patrol and enforce the Resident Sticker program; issue parking tickets accordingly.
  • Report damaged signposts and loose or damaged signs and signals.
  • Notify the Police Department of accidents and emergencies observed.
  • Perform other duties as directed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the geographic layout of streets, municipal parking areas, and other areas within Everett.
  • Ability to keep accurate and complete records.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public.
  • Meet physical requirements necessary to perform duties.

Physical demands and work environment

  • Ability to bend, crouch, reach.
  • Ability to use stairs when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work is performed outdoors for extended periods, including the entire duration of the shift.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold weather.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

Pay

$25.18 – $29.20 per hour.
