About the role
The City of Billings is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to enforce city parking regulations and provide public assistance.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and patrols designated areas including commercial and residential zones.
- Issues citations for parking infractions as necessary.
- Handles disputes and complaints with vehicle owners in a professional manner.
- Safeguards safety in designated parking zones such as fire lanes and handicapped spaces.
- Uses modern technology for enforcement, including handheld devices and software programs.
- Educates the public about parking regulations in a courteous and informative way.
- Collects and processes parking violation payments.
- Completes necessary paperwork such as notice of violation forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of experience in cash handling and customer service.
- A valid Montana driver's license or obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment.
Skills
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to handle disputes professionally.
- Knowledge of parking regulations.
- Basic computer skills for using enforcement technology.
Pay
Salary range: $19.9580 - $23.0720 per hour. Salary reflects Step 4 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
