Parking Enforcement Attendant - Burlington, VT

About the role

The Parking Enforcement Attendant reports directly to the Account Manager and is responsible for performing a variety of facility, garage, and lot support functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, parkers, co-workers, and clients
• Patrol and monitor each lot to ensure only authorized vehicles are parked
• Enforce lots by issuing citations based on preapproved guidelines to non-paid or time-expired parkers
• Manage lot signage, including taking down, repairing, and assembling signs
• Maintain lot cleanliness by picking up trash, cleaning signage, and performing general lot maintenance
• Troubleshoot parking meters and revenue-control equipment when applicable
• Prepare reports and file paperwork regarding violations and citations
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• Perform seasonal tasks including snow removal by shoveling, salting, and operating a snow thrower
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to stand for the length of the shift and lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions

• Ability to log information and make mathematical computations quickly and accurately

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position is $19 - $21 per hour.

Schedule

4 PM – 9 PM weekdays and 1 PM – 9 PM on weekends.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• The majority of work will be performed outdoors for extended periods, including the entire duration of the shift, subject to environmental conditions such as extreme heat and cold
• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to sit or stand for extended periods, walk, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Travel of up to 5% may be required
