About the role
The Parking Garage Attendant plays a crucial frontline role by assisting customers, supporting daily site operations, ensuring accurate revenue control, and maintaining a clean and safe parking environment. This position directly impacts customer experience and helps keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner to ensure a positive parking experience.
- Assist customers with parking payment, equipment use, entry and exit procedures, and general parking inquiries.
- Assist guests with mobile-app or QR-based parking access (no payments handled).
- Interact face-to-face with customers to resolve questions, concerns, or minor issues; escalate unresolved matters to a Shift Lead, Supervisor, or Operations Manager as needed.
- Act as a traffic controller by directing incoming guests to available parking spaces and managing vehicle flow within the garage.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as necessary and assist guests who may have forgotten where they parked.
- Conduct daily patrols of the facility and issue violation warnings to tenants or visitors who do not comply with posted garage policies.
- Process parking fees using POS systems and validations; accurately document passes and transactions in the site logbook.
- Collect, handle, and manage all front-line revenues accurately and responsibly.
- Prepare shift reports, complete ticket sorting, and assist with daily bank deposits as required.
- Balance revenue control sheets for both automated and non-automated parking locations.
- Maintain accurate records for all revenue-related and operational activities.
- Keep the parking facility clean, neat, and free of obstacles in accordance with site requirements.
- Perform litter pickup and seasonal tasks, such as snow shoveling or salting, when applicable.
- Aid with basic maintenance and minor repairs to parking equipment or facilities as directed by the Operations Manager.
- Properly operate and care for all parking equipment, tools, and devices used during the shift.
- Identify, log, and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, accidents, incidents, or unusual events immediately to management.
- Communicate operational updates, customer feedback, or site concerns to supervisors or management in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide suggestions for improving daily operations, safety, or customer service.
- Serve as a dependable frontline team member who supports smooth, safe, and efficient garage operations.
- Communicate professionally at all times with guests, clients, supervisors, and teammates.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Reliable transportation to the work site
- Customer service experience (required)
- Must successfully pass a background check, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility, as required by the Department of Homeland Security.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
