Parking Attendant

The Role

The attendant is responsible for collecting payments for garage access, assisting with pay stations, directing vehicles, and maintaining garage operations at the Broward County Convention Center. The role also serves as a liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring client requirements are met and that all facility rules, regulations, and policies are followed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Process credit card and electronic parking transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Aid guests with parking pay stations, gates, and parking access equipment as needed.
• Direct and manage vehicle traffic entering, exiting, and circulating within parking facilities to ensure safe and efficient flow.
• Serve as a liaison during high-volume events.
• Maintain parking areas for safety, operational concerns, and unauthorized activity.
• Set up and remove parking cones, barricades, signage, and designated parking areas as directed.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting patrons, answering questions, and resolving basic concerns professionally.
• Complete required reports and documentation related to parking transactions, equipment issues, and daily activity.
• Maintain and properly use supplies, tools, equipment, and parking technology required to perform job duties.
• Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Absorb and organize the parking garage and surrounding area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• Experience using payment devices and pay stations, a plus.
• Experience in convention centers, hotels, or similar settings is a plus.
