Park Steward (Seasonal)

Responsibilities

• Presents limited and repetitive pre-established talks including introductions to community programs, films, map talks, and static exhibit interpretation.
• Show visitors through the building/site, telling the story of events which took place here, and how those events related to the particular historic situation.
• Provides information on a variety of subjects and interprets park values for visitors with varying interests and backgrounds.
• Provides visitors with information on park related activities, services, and park themes.
• Facilitates visitor understanding and enjoyment of the park.
• Facilitates visitor compliance consistent with resource protection efforts.
• Encourages park visitors to develop a sense of stewardship of Park resources.
• Oversees daily park operations, protecting resources and maintaining visitor use areas.
• Affords assistance with program administration, including record-keeping and correspondence.

Qualifications

• Desired candidate must be approachable, friendly, able to deal with the public and willing to appropriately address any issues that may arise in confines of the park.
• Self-starter, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Makes safety the highest priority in performing all work activities.

Pay

$20.00/hr.
