About the role
The Park Manager is responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating operation and management of State Parks. This includes ensuring a safe, well-maintained park facility, providing efficient operation within budget constraints, promoting park usage through community relations, and managing natural resources.
Responsibilities
- Affirms a safe, well-maintained park facility through supervision and training of staff.
- Manages the park's operating budget by analyzing financial information and operational requirements.
- Provides park visitor service and promotes usage through community relations, partnerships, and marketing.
- Protects natural resources and educates visitors about environmental issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Park Administration or Management, Criminal Justice, Natural Resource Management or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in Park Management or Operations, Business Administration, Building and Grounds Maintenance, General Construction, or Natural Resources Management or Operations.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Demonstrated knowledge of park management and business administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of personnel and financial management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and advertising methods and principles.
- Familiarity with general construction methods and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with laws, rules, and regulations concerning the operation of State Parks.
- Ability to use basic computer applications and perform basic computer tasks.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to give clear instruction and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Experience supervising a team.
- Demonstrated time management and leadership ability.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Qualifications
Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Skills
- Knowledge of park management and business administration.
- Knowledge of personnel and financial management.
- Knowledge of marketing and advertising methods and principles.
- Familiarity with general construction methods and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with laws, rules, and regulations concerning the operation of State Parks.
- Basic computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Time management and leadership abilities.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Supervisory experience.

Pay
This position will pay $47,500 annually. An additional $4,500 annual housing allowance is provided due to the lack of on-site housing.
Schedule
Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the agency.
