Park Maintenance Worker (Semi Skilled Laborer) - Chapman State Park

About the role
This position helps meet the maintenance and repair needs of Chapman State Park through daily labor tasks involving equipment, grounds, and facilities. The role is seasonal, full-time, and runs from approximately March 2026 to November 2026, with automatic reemployment in March 2027. Work is scheduled 5 days per week (37.5 hours), including a 30-minute lunch, and may require weekends, holidays, and overtime. Travel is required, and telework is not an option.
Responsibilities
- Facility Repairs: Make repairs to park buildings and facilities using basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tools.
- Equipment Care: Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment used in daily park work.
- Cement Work: Build forms, mix and place cement, and complete basic masonry tasks.
- Grounds Maintenance: Mow grass, trim weeds, plant and maintain vegetation, clean drains, and remove debris.
- Housekeeping Duties: Clean and supply park buildings and complete minor routine repairs such as replacing bulbs.
- Visitor Support: Assist park visitors in a friendly manner and share helpful information.
Requirements
- One year of experience in laboring work, including the use of tools and equipment in maintenance or construction; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
