Park Maintenance – Full Time Job Opportunity

Full-time position within the Parks & Recreation Department reporting to the Parks Manager.

About the role

Perform routine maintenance of grounds, including mowing grass, picking up trash, and basic equipment maintenance. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may include holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machinery and tools such as utility vehicles, weed eaters, edgers, leaf blowers, shovels, rakes, and various janitorial and hand tools
• Work independently and take action on work-related issues
• Follow established policies and procedures
• Establish and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with others
• Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to achieve common goals
• Evaluate situations, identify problems, and exercise initiative and sound independent judgment within established guidelines
• Interpret and follow oral and written instructions
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Perform basic arithmetic calculations with accuracy
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of static weight
• Bend, stoop, reach, carry, crawl, climb, and lift as necessary to perform assigned duties
• Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet strict deadlines

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s license
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience in customer service
• Ability to work a variety of hours, including weekends and holidays
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Ability to learn to use park equipment
