About the Role
The Parent Support Specialist will serve as a primary resource for families in the school community, providing information about educational opportunities, engagement activities, and connecting parents and families to needed community resources. This role involves coordinating parent education programs to build understanding of school and community topics, as well as offering academic information and at-home activities for parents.
Responsibilities
- Provide families with information about school-based opportunities, including after-school programs and student activities.
- Coordinate and deliver parent education programs to enhance academic success and engagement.
- Conduct home visits and maintain documentation of all visits.
- Connect families with community resources and serve as a liaison between families and school staff.
- Disseminate approved materials and information about school programs and community activities at events such as Fam Jams.
- Develop and implement a plan to increase parental engagement through specific activities and events.
- Organize the recruitment, processing, and training of campus volunteers.
- Attend required professional learning sessions related to the position.
- Comply with time and effort reporting requirements for federally funded positions.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Regular travel throughout the district is required. This is a campus-based position, and remote work is not an option, as on-site attendance and duties are essential.
Qualifications
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S. equivalency).
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Pay
Minimum Salary: $40,767.00 | Median Salary: $50,958.00
