About the Role

The Child Welfare Parent Support Specialist provides support to foster families, families in family preservation, and post-adoption programs. Specialists work in-home with families and youth who struggle with behavioral management to the degree it threatens the stability of their living situation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for the safety, stability, and well-being of children and families served.
  • Provides 24-hour, 7-days-a-week crisis on-call support to assigned families.
  • Meets with assigned families to provide additional support to maintain the stability of children in the home.
  • Provides 60 hours of service delivery per month or as determined by program needs.
  • Assists parents in accessing resources throughout the community to meet child needs.
  • Requires regular communication with program staff.
  • Understands and follows program regulations when applicable.
  • Monitors and responds timely and appropriately to emails and phone calls.
  • Documents confidential information and accurately uploads into the electronic health record system.
  • Submits incident reports when appropriate.
  • Maintains good working relationships and facilitates communication with families and staff.
  • Provides parent training and support groups identified to assist in the stabilization of children.
  • Requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Delivers culturally competent, strengths-based services to children and families.
