Summary Of Classification
This class provides parent outreach services benefiting Title I students and their families within the District.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Education: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of full-time employment or equivalent work.
- Substitutions: College training may substitute for up to 2 years of experience, equivalent to an Associate's degree.
- Special Requirements: Must reside in the school attendance area or be familiar with attendance concerns in the area. Must be available during school hours and some evenings. Must be available to attend DPAC meetings.
- Additional Requirement: Implement at least 5 parent information sessions.
Credentials
- Licenses and Certifications: May be required to possess a Class D Operator's License.
Continuing Education Requirements
- Incumbents are expected to be trained in and remain current in all aspects of the program.

Essential Functions
- Parent Outreach: Address or convey parents' questions and concerns to appropriate staff.
- Community Resources: Assist families in locating community resources.
- Support Student Activities: Assist with event organization and implementation.
- Information Dissemination: Collect and disseminate information to parents and community agencies.
- Volunteer Coordination: Coordinate tasks and train volunteers.
- Parent Partnership: Encourage partnerships between parents, school, and community.
- Communication: Interpret and inform parents about school matters and District events.
- Data Management: Maintain logs and data related to parental involvement.
- Home Visits: Make phone calls and home visits to assist parents.
- In Service Participation: Attend required in-service activities.
- Document Preparation: Prepare written materials for documentation and reference.
- Community Presence: Maintain a consistent community presence in the school.
- Volunteer Recruitment: Recruit parents and volunteers.
- Translation: Translate written and verbal communications.
