Parent Coordinator

About the role

Join a team that is helping transform schools into welcoming, family-centered Community Schools! As part of a regional network of Community Schools throughout Rancho Cordova, our schools are continuing their work to become trauma-informed, equity-focused, and data-informed learning communities. This full-time Parent Coordinator position plays an important role in strengthening partnerships between schools, families, and the community, as well as assisting with some clerical support for the program.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the recruitment, placement, and functions of parent and community volunteers;
• Act in a public relations capacity;
• Perform delegated clerical and liaison responsibilities of the program;
• Plan and support family engagement opportunities such as Sports Physical Clinics, Kids Day in the Park, family holiday events like Turkey Drop and Winter Party, parent workshops, and other community events;
• Work some evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Equivalent to the completion of one year of college (responsible experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis);
• A minimum of two years as a volunteer or paid teacher aide; direct involvement in the local community programs.
