Parent Coach - Safe Way Forward

Responsibilities

• Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients.
• Essential Job Functions:
  • Help engage families in services
  • Participate in home, office and/or school visits with other Family Support Team members, where needed
  • Support parents in the goal setting process
  • Support parents navigate public systems (housing, public benefits, family court); accompanying parents to appointments
  • Co-facilitate trauma intervention groups
  • Support parents prepare for Family Team Conferences, support parents during FTC (as needed) and help parents process after FTC
  • Commit to developing practice skills in accordance to Safe Horizon’s client centered, trauma informed, anti-racist approach
  • Prepare for and participate in regularly scheduled FFP team case review meetings about new and on-going cases; where appropriate
  • Attend trainings relevant to position
  • Participate in individual supervision, in accordance with Safe Horizon’s quality supervision standards
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and team members
  • Implement strategies for addressing vicarious trauma

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills and well organized
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and also work on a team
• High school diploma/GED and two years of related experience or Associate Degree and one year of related experience
• Strongly Preferred: Bilingual Spanish/English fluency

Pay

Hiring Range: $23.75 to $24.75 Hourly

Schedule

Full-time Hours: 35 Hours per week
