Paratransit Operator (Regular Part-Time) (Continuous) (Grade 8/10)

About the role

The City of Huntsville’s Public Transit department seeks qualified candidates for the Part-Time Paratransit Operator position. This role involves operating a modified van to transport individuals with disabilities and the elderly throughout the city limits.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 15-passenger modified van
• Transport passengers safely and courteously
• Provide assistance to passengers with mobility impairments
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections
• Perform basic record-keeping duties
• Collect fares from customers
• Provide information to passengers

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Experience in driving large vehicles and transporting the public
• Valid Class D Driver's License
• Maintain an excellent Motor Vehicle Record as set annually by the Liability Insurance Company

Qualifications

• High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate
• Experience in driving large vehicles and transporting the public
• Valid Class D Driver's License
