Paratransit Operator
About the role
Hiring Immediately for Paratransit CDL Bus Drivers! $5,000 sign-on-bonus paid out in 6 increments. Transdev drivers are a specialized team of people! We operate paratransit vehicles serving people with disabilities throughout Nassau County, NY. Each day our drivers transport individuals who rely on our service to doctors’ appointments, work, grocery stores, and much, much more!
Responsibilities
- Safely transporting passengers in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner throughout the service area
- Aiding in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly securing wheelchairs and scooters
- Notifying dispatch of any incidents, accidents, or mechanical concerns
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- A valid NY State CDL Class C or higher driver’s license with passenger endorsement in good standing
- Must present an original Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) issued within the last 30 days
- Previous bus or heavy-duty vehicle driving experience preferred
- Excellent customer and communication skills
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules
- Subject to DOT drug testing
Qualifications
