Job Description Schedule PRN staff pool, schedule TBD, most likely a Monday thru Friday daytime position, exact hours TBD by business demands General Summary Performs a variety of functions related to transported patients that are confined to a wheelchair in the accordance with appropriate rules, regulations and protocols. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Provides prompt, courteous transportation services to patients who lack the means of transportation and / or who require transportation via wheelchair van to and/or from facilities, private residents, or practice locations.For scheduled transports, arrives at patient location on-time or up to ten minutes early, barring unforeseen circumstances.Maintain an operational knowledge of all WellSpan EMS equipment.Maintain professional and empathetic attitude when encountering family member(s) and patient(s)Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers and facility staff.Maintain all equipment in a clean, functional manner.Responsible for providing transportation services to patients in an orderly, safe and timely manner.Responsible for maintaining appropriate records for each transport accurately and completely.Responsible for the daily cleaning of the interior and exterior of the wheelchair van. Common Expectations Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor, and staff by complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.Attends meetings as required. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Required Work Experience Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required Driver's License Statement Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
